Our Reason Why
There’s nothing in the world like playing music for a room full of people and watching them lose themselves in the moment. The feeling we get seeing someone dance their ass off in the front row, sing along to one of our originals, or hit us with the nastiest stank face as the set hits full gallop — that’s everything to us.
That’s why we put in the late-night practices.
That’s why we burn the miles on the road.
That’s why we roll the dice on every sketchy dive bar gig that will have us.
Because for those few minutes where everyone forgets the past, ignores the future, and just exists together in the same electric moment — that’s the reason we do this. Recording this next album is our chance to create more of those moments, and reach more people who might need them.
We are Southbound Echoes, and this is our fundraising campaign.
Up 'Til Now
We’ve been a band for a short time, but we’ve hit the ground running. We’ve already written more than twenty songs together, released our EP Lights Out, and played some incredible stages — including Come & Take It in Austin and Dan Electros in Houston. We’ve opened for Blacktop Mojo, gotten a write-up in All Music Magazine, and even caught the attention of Ray Wylie Hubbard… which, honestly, still blows our minds.
That momentum is real, and this new project is our chance to take the next big step. We’re ready. The songs are ready. Now we need the resources to bring them to life at the level they deserve.
The Challenge
Recording a full project the right way — with professional production, mixing, and mastering — is expensive. And releasing it the right way adds even more costs we have to account for.
And back in the “good old days,” we might have been able to get a label to foot the bill. But honestly, that’s not how it works very often in the streaming era.
